Bangor Mall is based in Bangor, Maine and is a 60-acre 924ha) shopping centre. It was erected on a former dairy farm during 1977 and opened its doors to the public during October 1978. It is located north of the central business district of Bangor, on Stillwater Avenue. The mall can be reached by using the Interstate 95 and exiting at 187.
The shopping mall is the main destination for the upper 67% of the state and is the only enclosed mall within northern and central Maine. It is strategically placed off the I-95 and attracts many shoppers from eastern Canada.
It is viewed as the commercial and cultural hub for northern and eastern Maine. Its solid consumer base includes the 12000+ University of Maine students and the numbers increase significantly during summer and holiday periods because of the increased coastal tourist attractions such as Acadia National Park.
