Analysts have analyzed the consumer habits of American buyers through 2020.
Google reported that 69% of respondents plan to make more purchases in the upcoming sales season. In this case, one in two survey participants noted that new services would be available online in 2020 for the first time.
The study data suggest that the pattern of consumption in the U.S. is changing, writes Search Engine Journal. Even though the pandemic has significantly disrupted traditional retailing’s rhythm, it will not stop people in the quest for shopping.
Analysts note that consumers are open to trying new services and applications. Most are also willing to shop at new retailers and new platforms. Simultaneously, retailers who are not adapting to the latest consumer behavior model today risk losing their audience.
A separate chapter of the study was devoted to shopping during the year’s most significant sales period. It is reported that 62% of Americans plan to start shopping on the holidays earlier this year. 77% of respondents said they plan to look for gifts online rather than in physical stores. 66% of respondents said they plan to make purchases for small businesses. The trend to buy goods “on the spot” in the most convenient locations continues to grow in the market. Simultaneously, the popularity of discount codes, which customers can expect to get from their favorite brands, is increasing among buyers.
