Marseille Grand Littoral is the largest shopping centre in the Region Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur and one of the largest shopping centres in France. The center is major retail and restaurant destination benefitting from an exceptional and highly prominent position overlooking the Marseille coastline.  It also plays an important role in the local community, with regular events and animations organised in the centre.
Opened in 1996, Marseille Grand Littoral was acquired by Corio in 2008. The mall is currently going through refurbishment works, it will open in 2015.

Description of the location and accessibility

It is located in the in the 16th arrondissement, north of Marseille agglomeration, between Marignane airport and the Marseille town centre. The centre dominates its surrounding area and benefits from an excellent visibility from the highways A7 and A55, especially coming from the town centre.
The centre benefits from excellent accessibility by car and public transport provided by several bus services. A new tramway line is  planned to provide future rail access too.

Features mall architecture

From 2013-2015 the mall is going under refurbishment.
The landscape proposal is to revitalise this space and includes designs for an exciting entrance plaza and event space, pedestrian walkways, parking areas, outdoor play areas and outdoor eating areas. The approach was to not only create new spaces but to refresh existing ones ensuring all are united with a common language of contemporary design and materials.

Two level mall with simple internal circulation.  Marseille Grand Littoral is an enclosed regional shopping centre which benefits from easy internal navigation, with shops on two trading levels.
The two-level parking allows easy access into the centre and both trading levels directly. In addition the lower level car park provides climatic protection from the sun, wind and rain, providing additional customer comfort.
