For fear of tightening quarantine measures, the population is buying up essential goods, including toilet paper and food.

The government of the U.K. once again recorded an increase in the number of cases of coronavirus COVID-19. On September 24, a new anti-record was delivered – 6.6 thousand new cases. In this regard, the country’s population is afraid that the original full of diseases will reimpose restrictions.
Supermarkets of the country noted the increased demand for some goods, including long-storage food products such as pasta and flour, disinfectants, napkins, and toilet paper. Many supermarkets, including such large chains as Tesco, are afraid that there will be a shortage of these essential commodities and are introducing restrictions on selling specific products. Under the rules, Tesco customers can buy no more than three packs of toilet paper, flour, and other products from the highly demanding group into one hand.
Due to the increase in the number of illnesses, the U.K. authorities have begun partial imposition of restrictions, including a ban on restaurants and bars after 10 pm and requirements to companies to transfer employees to remote work. We are not talking about a new “lockdown” yet, but the situation may change soon.
