Located in southeast Winnipeg, Manitoba, St. Vital Centre opened in 1979 with Eaton's, The Bay, and Woolco as anchor tenants.
St. Vital Centre was renovated in 1986, 1998, and 2012. Currently, St. Vital Centre has seven anchor tenants and 160 smaller stores in 86,057 m2 of retail space. This includes a freestanding Safeway store, CIBC, Montana's Cookhouse, McDonald's, Old Navy, and Earls. Owned by the Ontario Pension Board and managed by 20 VIC Management Inc., St. Vital Centre has 4,661 parking spaces. A city transit bus depot is conveniently positioned near an entrance.
St. Vital Centre serves 54,000 households in a five-kilometre radius of Winnipeg. The mall has a weekly 178,000 pedestrians. In 2012, St. Vital Centre underwent a $10 million renovation which included new flooring, ceilings, wall coverings and energy efficient lighting.
