Operated by Toronto-based 20 VIC Management Inc., Halifax Shopping Centre consists of an enclosed shopping centre with 59,605.2 m2 of leasable area. This retail space attracts over 110,000 people each week. Adjacent is an office tower called Halifax Shopping Centre Annex with 38,998.5 m2 of leasable area, including a 5,002.5 m2 office tower, Chebucto Place. Mumford Professional Centre also owned by Halifax Shopping Centres' parent company, 20 VIC Management, is immediately adjacent to the annex property with another 22,025.8 m2 of leaseable space. Halifax Shopping Centre is open 9:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Halifax Shopping Centre is accessible by car from Bayers Road and Mumford Road. The shopping centre also includes a Metro Transit terminal. The Halifax Shopping Centre Annex parking lot is also a designated Park and Ride location.
In 1956 Eaton’s applied for a re-zoning of a property formerly the St. Patrick's Boys Home. Work began in 1961. Developed by Webb and Knapp (Canada) Ltd., Halifax Shopping Centre purchased the West End Mall and redeveloped it in 1991.
