Media company BuzzFeed will open its own retail “news stores” at airports across the United States. The first openings will take place in New York City as early as spring 2022.
BuzzFeed will offer its customers magazines and newspapers, travel accessories, snacks, health and beauty products, and lifestyle items. Monitors installed around the perimeter of the retail space will broadcast news and entertainment programming, as well as local business advertising.
“In all areas, such as food, news, pop culture and commerce, BuzzFeed is on message and inspiring audiences. The dynamic partnership (with airports) will leverage BuzzFeed’s knowledge of consumers to enhance its sales strategy,” the company’s press office commented.
