Luxury French fashion house Zadig & Voltaire has unveiled its boutique in Mexico City, marking a significant stride in the brand’s global expansion strategy. The 2,300 square feet boutique, situated within the esteemed Artz Mall, seamlessly blends Parisian elegance with Mexican craftsmanship, encapsulating the brand’s latest store concept.
Zadig & Voltaire’s in-house design team spearheaded the conceptualization, incorporating locally-sourced stone and metals crafted by Mexican artisans into the store’s tables and counters. Ryan Gendron, the Vice President of Design and Creativity, elaborated on the collaboration, stating, “We collaborated with local craftsmen to infuse our signature Zadig & Voltaire design with authentic Mexican flair. Additionally, we drew inspiration from the vibrant color palette associated with renowned Mexican architect Luis Barragan to accentuate the visual allure of our fitting rooms.”
Established in 1997 by Thierry Gillier, Zadig & Voltaire consistently challenges traditional norms of luxury, embodying a passion for freedom and creativity. Artistic Director Cecilia Bönström infuses the brand with a distinctive blend of sophistication and effortlessness, creating contemporary yet timeless silhouettes.
Zadig & Voltaire has already made a mark in Mexico through its wholesale business at El Palacio, recognized as a premier shopping destination in the heart of Mexico City. The brand has also seen robust sales among residents of Mexico and South America, notably in its boutiques in Florida and California.
As part of its global expansion initiative, Zadig & Voltaire aims to open eight more stores within the next three to four years. Two boutiques are currently in the development phase, with openings scheduled for late 2024 and early 2025. Presently, the company boasts over 350 stores worldwide, solidifying its position as a key player in the international fashion landscape.
