Hamleys first contracted wdl to do a complete remodelling of their world-renowned toy store during 2000.

Hamleys first contracted wdl to do a complete remodelling of their world-renowned toy store during 2000. This remodelling project was very complex from a technical perspective. It included some changes to the structure, a new layout and had to take into account the fire requirements.

The complexity of the project required that it be done in several stages. During this time, the store continued to trade as normal. This made it imperative that dust and noise be limited, normal deliveries could not be interrupted and the fire alarms were not to be switched off. All the fire exits had to be available at all times.

This particular project was televised for a TV documentary.

During February 2012, Hamleys once again engaged wdl for another massive refurbishment project to be completed before the start of the Olympics. During this project Hamleys unveiled their own-brand sweet shop.

Hamleys is extremely pleased with the work ethic of the contractor and envisages a long-term relationship with them.
