Initiative was created to “help customers enjoy LifeWear longer by offering repair, remake, reuse, recycling, and care essentials.”

Japanese fashion brand Uniqlo has opened a clothing repair and alteration studio in its flagship store on Regent Street in London. In a special room, Re.Uniqlo Studio. not only repairs old clothes, but also turns used clothing items into new ones.
Uniqlo noted that the initiative was created to “help customers enjoy LifeWear longer by offering repair, remake, reuse, recycling, and care essentials.” Specially trained Uniqlo employees now offer Londoners to hem pants, sew on buttons and repair holes and other damage to items bought at the Japanese brand’s stores. Prices for Uniqlo Studio’s services start at just £3.
Besides, the studio specializes in “quality improvement” of clothes, turning old clothes into new ones with the help of different repair and personalization services. These include a unique Japanese sewing technique called Sashiko.
With the launch of the repair bureau, the retailer aims to encourage its customers to consume responsibly – fixing, decorating and giving clothes for recycling more often to breathe a second life into them. Re.Uniqlo Studio also offers accessories to replicate it all at home – Shozaburo scissors and Misuya Bari needles are on sale. The brand also sells unique clothing created using its own sewing techniques.
"Re. Uniqlo Studio" will operate in Tokyo until the end of March 2023.
To celebrate the launch, the brand introduced the series with exclusive limited-time offers.
