The application, named StyleHint, will help you find fashion offers from brands including UNIQLO and GU.
Japanese fashion retailer UNIQLO has launched a new mobile app, StyleHint. The innovative tool is a search engine for the brand’s fashion novelties. After the successful launch of the app in Japan and the United States, it is also available for download in the UK and France.
StyleHint allows users to upload photos of clothing items that they like, including those from Instagram, and the search engine will find fashion offers in the same style, combined. The search can be performed using various parameters, such as keywords, location, age, and the type of search being performed. The application uses Google Cloud Vision API image analysis tool.
The search for clothing is not limited to just one item, however. Users will share their fashionable images, get tips on style, manage blogs, and subscribe to liked users’ feeds. And the found goods can be immediately purchased through the application. For now, you can only buy through StyleHint clothing and accessories brands UNIQLO and GU, brands owned by UNIQLO, but the company promises to increase the number of brands it sells in the future.
"Re. Uniqlo Studio" will operate in Tokyo until the end of March 2023.
Retailer is set to expand its presence in the United States by opening stores in Texas and California.
