Plymouth is a city and unitary authority area on the south coast of Devon, England, about 37 miles south-west of Exeter, and about 190 miles west-south-west of London. It is situated between the mouths of the rivers Plym to the east and Tamar to the west. Today the city is home to around 250,000 people, making it the 27th most populous built-up area in England and Wales. Plymouth has a post-war shopping area in the city centre with substantial pedestrianisation.Plymouth Council is currently undertaking a project of urban redevelopment called the "Vision for Plymouth". Its projects range from shopping centres, a cruise terminal, a boulevard and to increase the population to 300,000.
