Turkey imposed a weekend curfew and shut down cafes and cinemas

Cinemas close down by the end of the year, and the general public goes to work through delivery.

 The authorities of Turkey decided to introduce new preventive measures in search of solutions to reduce the number of new diseases. Business restrictions are tightening amid the second wave of virus spread.

Following a meeting with ministers, the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, signed a decree to start partial curfews. 

Officials do not recommend Turkish citizens go outside on weekends from 20:00 to 10:00. Previously, curfews had already been introduced in the country in spring during the first wave of virus spread. Today, the authorities of the republic act less strictly, not limiting the movement of citizens during the daytime. 

New measures affect business: all cinemas in the country are closed down by the end of the year, and catering establishments switched again to work through delivery, without restaurant service. Shopping centers, retail stores, and beauty salons are still in operation but must close by 20:00 at the latest. Additional restrictions also affect the country’s education system – all schoolchildren switch to home study until the end of the year.
