Tesla is preparing to launch an innovative sales approach by establishing storefronts where passers-by will be invited in for informational sessions. Tesla’s spokeswoman, Alexis Georgeson, said that it can take up to three hours and several visits to obtain all the information on how Tesla operates.
The potential customers will gain knowledge on how the various options, such as sunroofs, are able to increase the price of the vehicle from a base of around $70000 to a final $130000. California drivers are able to gain $10000 due to the federal and state rebates.
This store, as well as one due to open on the same day in Walnut Creek will become one of seven in the Bay area and 55 across the country.
The new sales approach allows customers to customize their vehicles prior to manufacture. The normal delivery time is three to six weeks as demand exceeds the current production level.
