Subway, one of the world’s largest franchised fast-food restaurant chains, may change ownership. The families of its founders, Fred De Luca and Peter Buck, who own the business, are considering selling the company.
It became known today that Subway has hired consultants to study the possibility of selling the business. According to preliminary estimates, the company could be worth at least $10 billion today.
The business of the Subway chain, since 1965, owned by the founders’ families, is tentatively estimated at $10 billion. For comparison, McDonald’s today is worth almost $200 billion.
