Spanx, a brand specializing in clothing and corrective underwear, is preparing to launch its first pop-up stores in the United States. The outlets will appear in New York, Washington and Miami.
According to the company’s press service, a temporary Spanx store will open in Washington, D.C., on November 4, and a pop-up store will open in Miami and New York on November 11.
The new experiential stores will feature artwork by Nigerian-Australian artist Nkosi Ndlovu and an interactive installation depicting “the twists and turns and curves that shape the female experience.”
Following a series of pop-up store openings, the brand will officially launch the clothing and lingerie collection at the Selfridges department store in London. The agreement lasts two months but can be extended into the post-holiday season.
As of the third quarter of 2023, Spanx sells its corrective apparel through an e-commerce site, its retail outlets, and some retailers, including Nordstrom.
The Spanx brand, founded by Sarah Blakely, has been in the fashion market since 2000. In 2021, investment firm Blackstone acquired a controlling stake in the company. At that time, Spanx’s business was valued at $1.2 billion.
