The mall has been named ‘Kallang Wave’ and the vote for it was unanimous. SMRT President and CEO, Desmond Kuek, said the association with the old National Stadium will be retained and symbolizes energy, close community links and spirit.
The mall spans 441320 sq ft, with a mix of retail and F&B stores, both international and homegrown. Tenants include Foodfare, Uniqlo, Harvey Norman, FairPrice Xtra and H&M.
The mall features a climbing wall going from its basement to the third level, along with a rooftop water park.
It can be accessed through the Stadium Circle Line Station, as well as Dakota Station, East West Line’s Kallang Station and Mountbatten Station.
Direct access can be gained from Stadium Boulevard and Nicoll Highway.
Car park facilities for 3000 are available, with 500 bays situated directly below the mall.
The mall will be managed by SMRT Alpha, a joint venture between NTUC FairPrice Co-operative and SMRT. Kallang Wave will form part of the S$1.3bn Singapore Sports Hub set to open during June.
