The fashion chain marks the growth of sales and intends to consolidate the results with the opening of 18 new outlets.
In November and December 2019, Primark sales grew by an impressive 4% over the previous year. Having completed the holiday season, the company can sum up the results. One of the main factors of this rise against the background of declining sales growth in most retailers is the active opening of more and more new outlets. At the same time, the brand pays much less attention to the active presence of online and other methods of promotion.
The retailer plans to continue this strategy, which has proved to be active and to open 18 more new stores. It means adding more than 80,000 square meters of retail space in the fiscal year 2020 alone.
And the company will not limit itself to the UK; it plans to open stores in different countries. The location of the first ten stores is already known, the positions of the other eight are still being determined, including negotiations on the rental of premises. Apart from the UK, Primark retail spaces, the exact location of which has already been confirmed, will also be opened in Belgium, USA, France, Italy, Spain, Poland, and Germany.
In 2020, Primark will enter the Polish market – in spring; it will open a shop in Warsaw and later in Poznan. Then the company plans to open a store in the Czech Republic, most likely in Prague. It is noted that the first store of the brand will be opened in Slovakia in Bratislava. Thus, Slovakia will be the 15th country that Primark will add to its map of open stores.
