Versace opened a flagship store in Beijing

Italian fashion house Versace announced the opening of its flagship brand store in Beijing.

The launch of the new retail space is part of the group's strategy to expand its retail network worldwide. The new Versace boutique received its first customers at China World Mall. On an area of about 400 square meters, the Italian luxury brand presents new collections of men's and women's clothing, as well as a line of shoes and accessories. The design of the new store was designed by French architect Guvenal Nicolas. 

The LEED-certified boutique has been created taking into account the highest standards, the company noted. In particular, to ensure the efficient use of energy during the day, the shop has been equipped with dimmable luminaires with central control. 

"There is no greater luxury than our future. The new concept of Versace China is a commitment to the sustainable heritage of Versace," said Donatella Versace, chief designer of the fashion house. 

The purchase of Versace by Capri Holdings (also owned by Michael Kors and Jimmy Choo) was closed at the end of 2018. The transaction amounted to $2.2 billion. The new owners are currently implementing a plan to double Versace's sales in the global marketplace. As part of its strategy, the company expects to open 112 new stores by 2022. The launch of the flagship boutique in Beijing is an important step to strengthen the brand's position in China, where 53 stores have already been opened.
