The live online broadcast of the fashion show will showcase models and clothing created using 3D technology.
The Coronavirus Infection Pandemic has put into question the viability of holding fashion shows in the near future. An option for the fashion industry may be a partial transition to the digital space.
One of the first experimental steps in this direction will be a virtual fashion show. Startup Bigthinx in partnership with the organization Fashinnovation on June 5 will hold a live broadcast of the first of its kind virtual fashion show. The show will be created using 3D digital design, rendering, and animation technology.
The podium will be created in a style inspired by the theme of World Oceans Day. By digitizing images of clothing items and their placement on a 3D model avatar, created from the photos of real models, creates a very realistic virtual action, complemented by developments in lighting, texture, animation, and rendering.
The show's creator, Bigthinx, which uses artificial intelligence technology in its work, is a graduate of the Startup Bootcamp startup support project, which is being run in collaboration with Prada Group. It is expected that the new developments will help the startup to create customized virtual fashion solutions for both Prada and other brands, with subsequent use in online sales to help the startup attract more customers.
In particular, a wide range of opportunities for using a technological solution for scanning body measurements, including those based on images, are opening up in the field of collecting data on measurements of Prada customers. This will enhance the brand's knowledge of customer size demographics so that it can then modify production to take into account the real needs of customers, as well as take into account differences in different regions.
If such initiatives are successful and the new technologies really help achieve a realistic display of the clothing models, then a new stage of development can begin for fashion brands. Many companies are already planning to replace physical displays with virtual ones and use them not only as an advertising and promotion tool but also as an effective sales tool.
