Starwood Retail Partners to Begin Modernizing Stony Point Fashion Park

The anticipated upgrade of popular Stony Point Fashion Park carries a $50 million bill, according to Chicago-based Starwood Retail Partners.

Detailed plans for the face-lift project a site-wide upgrade with emphases on a comfortable social setting; enhanced outdoor spaces; and a healthy mix of experiential entertainment options.

The greater purpose of the revamp is to appeal more to the trending lifestyle of the new generation of shoppers. This will be pursued by creating new welcoming common areas, interactive fountains, green spaces, and open-air courtyards. The new retail outlets and restaurant shops will adopt a modern high-end feel and accessibility will be enhanced for vehicles and pedestrians.

 Stony Point Fashion Park upgrade plans are by no means a new challenge for veteran agency Starwood Retail Partners. Starwood’s rich portfolio contains over 30 properties that have been redeveloped over the years to create unique shoppers’ experience and promote communal ambience in a premium retail destination.

 Plans are scheduled to begin at the popular outdoor common areas in the summer of 2016. From these areas, enhancements will continue at the East and West courts of the center. These enhancements are expected to offer visitors a remarkable experience of getting to relax and connect effortlessly in a string of idyllic, cozy, and electrifying all-season environments.

 The West End will be the new favorite destination at the upgraded West court. The location will become a diverse, open-air expanse where guests can have engage in a fun-activity or relax in a sublime courtyard interposed with fountains, fire pits, and tables. The space is ideal for individuals and active families alike who would like to connect or seek participatory entertainment.

The East Side is where much of the activity will be happening. It will be home to an extended green space, world-class shopping, and fun-filled entertainment. Fancy taking a stroll in a scenery straight out of a fairy tale with a subtle interplay of experiential art, fountains, creative seating (say heated benches), and a space that is “alive” and adapts to the changing seasons—ice-skating rink in colder months and a melting pot for performances during hotter months? These new entrants will add diversity and versatility to an already impressive, sophisticated offering of high-end brands like Saks Fifth Avenue, Coach, Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse, Tiffany & Co., Brio Tuscan Grille, Restoration Hardware, and Sur La Table.
