Skechers opens flagship store on Gran Via in Madrid

The new Skechers store will have a total area of 774 sq. meters.

American footwear manufacturer Skechers opens its flagship store in Madrid, strengthening its position in the fast-growing Spanish market. The new retail space will be located on Gran Via, the most prestigious location in the Spanish capital and one of the most expensive shopping streets in Europe.

The new Skechers store will have a total area of 774 sq. meters. The design of the space has been designed to showcase the brand's range of products and technology, the company said. The monostore features full collections of footwear as well as apparel and accessories. The interior incorporates traditional elements of Spanish architecture and design. 

"Skechers plans to reach $10 billion in annual sales by 2026. To achieve this goal, we will continue to invest in key markets with initiatives such as expanding our European distribution center and strategically opening major retail stores such as this new flagship store in Madrid," said David Weinberg, chief operating officer of the brand.

With the opening of the flagship on Gran Via, the total number of Skechers stores in Spain has increased to 61, including 14 monostores operating in Madrid. The company now operates 4,355 stores with locations in 180 countries around the world. Skechers revenue for 2021 was 1.77 billion euros.
