Online shopping platform Talkshoplive received a $3 million investment

The company intends to expand its streaming capabilities and go global.

One of the most noteworthy trends in online shopping today has been the development of live streaming. In this version, during online events, sellers can directly address customers by communicating with the seller and making purchases during the broadcast, often with a simple click of the mouse. Such broadcasts are very popular in the Asian market, and now they are rapidly taking over the rest of the world. And because of the pandemic, this process has only accelerated. 

Thus, it became known that the streaming e-commerce platform Talkshoplive, founded in 2018, attracted about $3 million in seed funding as an investment. The primary source of investment was the company Spero Ventures, joined by several other investors.

The Talkshoplive platform, which is also positioned as a social network for shopping, allows merchants to create and conduct "live" video broadcasts. The company also provides tools for order processing, payment acceptance, and delivery arrangements. Moreover, shoppers can chat with the salesperson and shop while watching a live video broadcast. 



In total, Talkshoplive's services are currently used by about 3,000 small businesses. The platform has also attracted many celebrities like Matthew McConaughey, Alicia Keys, and Paul McCartney and big-name book publishers like Penguin Random House and Simon & Schuster. They offer books, music, and similar items to customers. New categories that the company plans to develop include food and beauty products. 

The company plans to use the money to develop its tools to meet the explosive growth in such services for merchants and customers. Talkshoplive intends to create its product management team and hire additional technical specialists to develop the platform further.
