11 Honoré brand attracted $10 million in investment from the American department store chain, Nordstrom.
11 Honoré is an online luxury clothing retailer of large sizes. The main idea behind this initiative is that the luxury women's clothing segment of the fashion market for women's plus-size is not yet almost covered by manufacturers. The majority of higher class fashion retailers have focused on a limited range of sizes, and only in such sizes can customers rely on the services of a personal stylist. 11 Honoré intends to change this approach to show that the world's best designers can also be made for plus-size women.
Nordstrom has become one of the investors in this fast-growing brand. The investments raised will be used to develop the tailor-made styling service that 11 Honoré offers to its customers, as well as to expand the range further to include more sizes and new brands. In addition to investing, Nordstrom will also host fashion shows by 11 Honoré in several American cities.
The 11 Honoré brand was founded two years ago and showed its first collection this year at New York Fashion Week. It's one of the brands that are creating a new market for high-end women's wear today. And as the growing number of investments in this and other such startups shows, this segment of the fair promises to become profitable and multiply in the coming years. As to say, the market already literally requires fashion companies to increase the number of sizes.
