A McDonald's virtual restaurant will deliver to homes in the meta-universe, reports Business Insider. The corporation has joined a long list of major international brands and has applied to register several trademarks for use in the meta-universe.
The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has received ten trademark applications for McDonald's and McCafe, pertaining, among other things, to "virtual food and drink" and "virtual restaurant management with home delivery" as well as online entertainment and events.
Josh Gerben, a trademark lawyer, said on Twitter that McDonald's is attempting to defend the idea of creating a restaurant in a meta-universe with the ability to sell both virtual and real food online.
The expert described eating at McDonald's while in the metaverse. You don't even need to take your headset off. They bring your food to your door after some time. According to him, global brands will apply for the same kind of work in the meta-universe in the next 12 months.
McDonald's trademark applications for use in the meta-universe are expected to be approved. However, the process could take up to nine months.
