The Golden M Barber Shop does Golden Arches-style haircuts for men from the '90s.
McDonald's has announced the opening of its first barbershop in Stockholm. The certified studio, dubbed the Golden M Barber Shop, works on men's hair with a parting down the middle and arch bangs, which were at the height of popularity in the 90s.
In Sweden, McDonald's marketing team has decided to reinvigorate a long-gone trend by creating its barbershop in Stockholm. The company is inviting men to re-do the hairstyle worn by celebrities at the end of the last century, including David Beckham and Leonardo DiCaprio, Fox News writes. Simultaneously, the new hairstyle's version is nothing less than a commercial for McDonald's famous golden arches stylized with a capital "M" in its logo.
"When we realized people were wearing our Golden Arches, we had to take action. We opened the M Barber Salon not only to guard our Golden Arches but to claim it once and for all." "The salon is a celebration for our fans to help them keep their M hair in perfect condition," commented McDonald's Sweden Marketing Director Staffan Ekstam.
The company noted that within two hours of the online announcement of the meeting with influential hairstylist Adam Lukacs, all seats in the salon were booked. Visitors to the virtual sessions were treated to a haircut and digital styling lessons. McDonald's also launched a free Big Macs program for hair wearers using the Golden M Detector mobile app.
