McDonald's launches favorite dishes from the South Korean K-Pop band BTS

Fans of the South Korean pop sensation can try their idols' favorite dishes at McDonald's starting May 26.

McDonald's has announced another celebrity collaboration as part of its Famous Orders promotion. Previously, customers could find favorites from rapper Travis Scott and singer Jay Balvin on the menu. But this time, there are seven celebrities - members of the mega-popular South Korean pop group BTS. 

An unusual step for the restaurant chain was to increase the number of celebrities, even if they are in the same group, and increase the number of markets. The new promotion will be the first in the Famous Orders program to be rolled out in more than one market. Previously, the Famous Orders offerings were only available to U.S. shoppers.  



The group's signature order includes Chicken McNuggets (10 or 9 pieces depending on the country), a medium package of World Famous Fries, a medium drink, and two Sweet Chili and Cajun sauces inspired by recipes used in the chain's South Korean restaurants. 

Fans of Korean pop music will be able to find offerings from the group's members on restaurant menus beginning May 26. The first market for the new menu will be the U.S., and the program will roll out in 50 markets worldwide during June. 

The company expects a surge in sales of the chicken nuggets that are promoted in the campaign. Given the program's previous success, when beloved Quarter Pounder burgers were swept away by customers, and some stores even experienced a shortage of them, as well as the outrageous popularity of K-pop around the world, McDonald's can expect even more impressive results.
