Mayor Gerold Noerenberg and the owners of Glacis-Galerie opened their new shopping center in Neu-Ulm.
Glacis-Galerie, with a sales area of 27,000 m², is one of the biggest shopping centers in Germany that will be opened this year. It will house a diverse and modern branch and tenant mix, including medium to premium price segment retailers on two levels and in 90 shops. Among them are retailers that are new to the region. OFB Projektentwicklung and Procom Unternehmensgruppe realized Glacis-Galerie in a construction time of two years. The general contractor is BAM Deutschland AG, which is headquartered in Stuttgart. The investment volume amounts to more than 130 million euros. ECE will take over the management of the center.
“Glacis-Galerie is a great benefit for Neu-Ulm and the entire region. I am convinced that it will draw more visitors to our city,” Gerold Noerenberg, Mayor of Neu-Ulm, emphasized. It will bring more customers to the city center to the benefit of the already existing retailers, he continued. More than 520,000 people with an above-average purchase power live in the catchment area of Glacis-Galerie. Center Manager Alexandru Gavriliu is overwhelmed: “The center is filled with life at last. We have been working for this day with a great team – recently even around the clock.”
A diverse mix of new retailers and a number of brands which are well-known in the region will draw many visitors to the center. From fashion to consumer electronics and drugstores to food, cafés and restaurants – there will be something for everyone. “Our center has everything you need or that makes life better,” Gavriliu continued.
