At the end of jury deliberations, 27 MAPIC Awards finalists were selected from 15 countries, including a significant rise in the number of entries from Asia.
Organised by Reed MIDEM, the International Market for Retail Property will be held in Cannes from 19 to 21 November."The MAPIC Awards 2014 will once again reward the excellence, innovation and creativity of retailers and developers", explains Frederic Laloum, General Manager Leasing and Member of the Executive Board of Altarea Commerce, as well as President of the Jury. He adds that "among this year’s major trends, there is a new dynamic in the Food & Beverage industry – both in the pace of expansion and in the emergence of new concepts. Key factors affecting new development include the importance given by retailers and developers to the design, concept and architecture of their projects, the multiplication of large urban projects that are well integrated into the city landscape, as well as a wave of refurbishment of mature shopping centres."
