Clarks opens a unique concept store in Tokyo

To celebrate the opening, Clarks will be selling unique footwear models not available in other stores.

The oldest British shoe manufacturer and retailer Clarks International Ltd. opened its first concept store in Tokyo. Unique in concept and interior design, the monostore is located in the capital's central Harajuku district.

The interiors of "Clarks Originals Tokyo" flagship store are designed in minimalist style, with aesthetics referring to the homeland of the brand - the county of Somerset. The designers have used multicolored brick to create floors and decorated the walls with wooden lattice panels.



In the store there is also a special room The Brand Box, decorated with unusual pieces of furniture and interiors, which express the vision of the British brand. The interiors for the flagship store were designed by Soda, an architecture firm with offices in Tokyo and Shanghai.

To celebrate the opening, Clarks said the monostore will sell unique footwear models not available at the brand's other locations. These include Desert Boots, Desert Treks and Wallabees, created to commemorate the anniversary of Union Jack Desert Boots in 2010.



For Clarks, opening a flagship in Harajuku is just the beginning of expansion in the Japanese market. As early as September, the brand plans to open its second store of a similar format in the Shinsaibashi shopping district of Osaka.
