Plans to create a leading outlet shopping and leisure space in the north of England were announced, as well as the first 23 brands to sign up, including BOSS, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Adidas, Levi’s, Mint Velvet, Joules, Gap and Skechers.

The Scotch Corner Designer Village, located in one of the UK’s most renowned locations on the A1(M) Highway in North Yorkshire, is predicted to be an outstanding outlet location in northern England. The 250,000 square feet scheme will comprise up to 92 units in the first phase, 10 of which will be a range of restaurants and cafes serving in an informal setting. Developer Scotch Corner Richmond LLP will invest £90 million in the first phase of the project.

With a large projected client base of affluent regional buyers, a large number of residents passing by motorists from nearby highways and highways, a significant amount of tourists, and a convenient location, Scotch Corner Designer Village attracts premium and best of street retailers, as well as selected independent brands. According to a study by Ken Gunn Consulting, the project will be among the top six UK outlet centers in terms of the expected costs visitors spend.

The design of the scheme will have an uncovered village atmosphere rather than a retail park or a closed shopping center.  High-quality local materials and architectural details, combined with a rustic street atmosphere, will contribute to a strong sense of place and identity. Scotch Corner Designer Village will reflect the local architecture and design through an intimate series of open streets interspersed with courtyards and terraces.

Opened in 2021, the village has begun extensive landscaping and infrastructure work.
