Victoria Gate

Victoria Gate opened in October 2016 at George Street and Eastgate in Leeds city centre, with approximately 35,000 sqm of gross leasable area anchored by a John Lewis flagship, positioned as the Leeds city-centre luxury complement to the broader Trinity Leeds circuit. The centre is part of the Victoria Leeds estate owned and operated by Redical.

Victoria Gate’s opening was strategically timed to coincide with the wider Leeds city-centre investment cycle and positioned John Lewis’s Yorkshire return as the anchor for a premium retail street connecting the Victoria Quarter Victorian arcades to the new George Street pedestrianised axis. Harvey Nichols, immediately adjacent in the Victoria Quarter development of 1990, creates a contiguous luxury retail corridor from Briggate’s Thorntons Arcade through Harvey Nichols and into Victoria Gate, making Leeds’s Eastgate and Victoria Quarter zone the most concentrated luxury and premium retail circuit in England outside Central London. The John Lewis flagship was one of the company’s largest regional store investments in the 2010s.

Leeds’s professional and university catchment of approximately 830,000 provides the city base, with the wider West Yorkshire premium consumer market accessible by rail extending the luxury retail draw.
