Ulrich Gardens, a cultural and historical monument from the 19th century, will be restored by 2022.
Ingka Group has announced its participation in an unusual project. Known for its “green” initiatives and efforts to preserve nature, the company plans to restore a unique landmark in Poland. It is designed to recreate the famous Ulrich’s Ogrody (Ulrich gardens), located in the Wola district, in the park of the same name.
This attraction is familiar to locals and tourists alike. Ulrich Gardens is a peculiar place where the Ulrich family built the first greenhouses in Warsaw with various tropical plants in the XIX century. Guests from all over the world came to admire the unique collection of exotic plants.
The restorers plan to recreate the horticultural system’s scale and splendor, reinterpreting it in modern design. It is intended that the restoration work will begin in early 2021 and will last until the spring of 2022. The restoration of the historic buildings will be combined with introducing a modern system of energy-efficient lighting, modernization of the sewage system, etc.
The renovated Ulrich Gardens, which will be transformed into a creative space filled with nature’s spirit, will be open to the public. There will be park areas, modern greenhouses, recreational areas, cafes, and restaurants, as well as everything you need for a comfortable pastime. The main feature of the gardens will be the emphasis on maintaining the environment and a healthy lifestyle.
