H&M is set to introduce the sale of second-hand clothing and accessories at its flagship store in London from October 5. The move comes in response to growing pressure on fast fashion companies to address their environmental footprint by encouraging the reuse and recycling of clothing.

The company said that against the backdrop of upcoming European Union regulations to combat textile waste, H&M openly recognized its role in addressing the issue and emphasized the need to transform production and consumption practices in the fashion industry.
The ‘PRE-LOVED’ womenswear collection, launched at H&M’s Regent Street store, will include pieces from other brands and designers and H&M Group brands such as Arket, Cos, Monki and Weekday.
H&M has announced that the secondhand Autumn/Winter 2023 collection will include a wide range of items including metallic dresses, shirts, trench coats and fashion knitwear, with additions to the range daily.
H&M did not provide details on the pricing or sourcing of these garments. It is noteworthy that earlier, in November last year, the company launched a clothing rental service in its Regent Street store.
