Aquis Plaza is located right in the pedestrian area of Aachen’s old town. With the Kaiserplatz bus stop the center boasts excellent public transport links: more than 20 bus services stop here, making the center easy to reach from anywhere within its catchment area.
As regards to urban development and architecture Aquis Plaza will integrate harmonically into the present structure of the inner city. The shopping gallery reflects the spirit of optimism of Aachen with its high-quality and elegant design. The main entrances are planned to be constructed at Kaiserplatz and the pedestrian zone of Adalbertstraße. In the interior of Aquis Plaza large glass domes will allow much daylight and transparency as well as interesting insights and views over several floors for visitors.
The shop and mall areas are on all 3 levels of the mall. Planned are about 130 shops to be settled in the mall. The food court is being built on the 2nd floor near the west entrance. The enclosed car park with approx. 25,500 m² of space is located on the 3rd and 4th basement levels. Access is via a spiralling ramp connected by tunnel to the local traffic. Apartments will be integrated into the 3rd and 4th upper floors. The building services will be housed in a rooftop plant and equipment building on the 5th floor. The project has a total GFA of approx. 93,000 m².
