Whole Foods Market and the Irvine Company have finalized a lease which will see the first Whole Foods Market placed in Irvine, California.
The grocer will open its store during the spring of 2016, in 40000 sq ft at Los Olivos Marketplace, which is a specialist shopping center located on Irvine Center Drive, Irvine Spectrum, off the 405 freeway. It will join Whole Foods Market’s Fashion Island store, which had its opening during 2012. This is set to be the sixth store within Orange County.
Los Olivos Marketplace is a specialty center measuring 120000ft². Construction of the building is due to commence during this summer, for completion during the latter part of 2015. Along with the Whole Foods Market, the shopping center is set to include casual shops, dining and other services to satisfy the needs of residents of Irvine Spectrum, visitors and employees.
The center forms part of the 5000-acre residential, shopping and business master plan of the Irvine Company, Irvine Spectrum. Many people are opting to live in Irvine Spectrum because of its stimulating atmosphere, housing, jobs, trails and parks which are all within walking distance. In excess of 10000 people reside three miles from Los Olivos Marketplace and around 40% work in Irvine Spectrum.
Company Retail Properties is excited about the plans as it will offer the people in the area convenience and excitement.
