The un-tethered experience will be an immersive and multi-sensory one, mixing new technologies, the magic of illusion, and virtual reality to parachute visitors into a galaxy. Along with sight and sound, the adventure will also involve stimuli like touch, smell and motion.
One of the latest technologies that will be used to raise the virtual reality feeling will be haptic feedback, which affects the sense of touch with the application of vibration, force, and motion on virtual objects.
The Void entertainment company is creating the attraction. "Guests will move freely throughout the untethered, social and multisensory experience as they interact and engage with friends, family, and Star Wars characters," said The Void co-founder and chief creative officer, Curtis Hickman. There was no additional information given as to how much the new attraction would cost and just exactly what it would entail and consist of.
Insiders believe that the new Star Wars attraction will be similar to one that Void done for Madame Tussauds in New York City. That virtual reality project was based on the 1980's cult classic movie, Ghostbusters.
