The first pre-let has been secured by the specialist commercial property investment manager of Gretna Gateway Outlet Village in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland.
Orchard Street Investment Management has managed to secure a Next Outlet as an anchor for the 15000ft² development. Next has signed a 10-year lease on 11000ft².
Construction is due to commence on Phase III mid-October 2014 and is due for completion during the summer of 2015. The remaining 8000ft² of space has attracted strong interest.
Gretna Gateway Outlet Village is a 130000ft² established retail park. It is conveniently located next to the M74 and M6 motorways. The attraction of the retail park is set to continue with Phase III, and increased numbers of visitors are expected to the stores which include Berghaus, Molton Brown, Clarks Outlet, M&S Outlet, Gap Outlet and Nike Factory Store.
The asset manager at Orchard Street, Andrew Jenkins, sees the decision by Next Outlet to lease an anchor unit as a great endorsement of the scheme and the plans to extend and improve it further. The management hopes to offer customers an enhanced experience when shopping at the huge range of different retailers.
