Nordstrom Local stores will run as a neighborhood hub for personal styling, onsite modifications and a suite of services.
Fashion specialty retailer Nordstrom announced Nordstrom Local the latest retail concept and community center where consumers can shop and reach Nordstrom services in a convenient location. This brand new Nordstrom experience will launch in West Hollywood on the same day as the company's Westside Pavilion store moving to Century City.
Nordstrom Local will have trade area of a 3,000 sq. ft.; much smaller than an ordinary 140,000 sq. ft. Nordstrom store. The concept store has no dedicated inventory - is service-focused. Customers who want to make on order will have access to Personal Stylists, who can deliver merchandise in for clients, as well as a suite of useful services like Buy Online, same-day Pick-Up In-Store, Alterations & Tailoring, Trunk Club services, manicure appointments and more. Customers will also be able to do returns from Nordstrom stores, website and Trunk Club.
"As the retail landscape continues to transform at an unprecedented pace, the one thing we know that remains constant is that customers continue to value great service, speed, and convenience," stated Shea Jensen, Nordstrom senior vice president of customer experience who guided the Nordstrom Local initiative. "We know there are more and more demands on a client's time and we wanted to offer our best services in a convenient location to meet their shopping needs. Finding new ways to engage with customers on their terms is more important to us now than ever."
Nordstrom Local will have only one styling suite and eight dressing rooms surrounding a central meeting space where consumers can sit comfortably, enjoy a glass of wine or beer, and chat with their Stylists. Customers will also get Alterations & Tailoring and Order Pickup at the entrance, and items can be delivered to a customer's car via Curbside Pickup.
