General Growth Properties Inc (GGP) has made the decision to introduce a range of new initiatives to save time and add enjoyment to shoppingThe holiday period remains one of the busiest periods in the year. Since around 90% of retail sales in the US happen at physical stores, GGP is keeping up with the changing consumer by offering holiday attractions for families, improved guest experience services and Same Day deliveries.
Some of the services being offered include:
Parking ambassadors have been added to mall locations to assist customers with parking and offering real-time parking lot status reports. Along with this service there are gold carts ready to shuttle customers from and to their vehicle. Certain locations have entered into partnerships with Uber to offer free trips to the value of $60, to participating malls and the opportunity of a free return trip for those who spend in excess of $150 during their mall visit or are new Uber riders. Uber stands can be found in the mall and drivers are aware of exactly when guests are ready for pick-up, eliminating the need to wait out in the cold.
GGP has introduced a text program that allows guests to navigate and communicate with the mall. Customers can text an inquiry to a specific phone number and be sure to receive a response within two to three minutes.
Same day delivery
Shoppers can opt to have in-store purchases delivered to a destination within a specified mile radius on the same day. This service is available at 12 GGP locations and is free of charge until the end of this year.
No-wait Santa appearances
Santa visits can be reserved, thereby eliminating a waiting period.
Enhanced service kiosks
Guests have the option of using interactive spaces that are staffed. These kiosks offer iPads for customer use, gift card sales, charging stations, complimentary bottled water and a free gift wrapping service.
Guests at select GGP malls will enjoy a mall-wide party on Thursdays during December.
