Netflix unveils plans for brick-and-mortar "Netflix House" stores

Netflix is stepping into the world of physical retail to expand its horizons. No stranger to physical media, the company began its journey by mailing DVD discs to customers. Bloomberg reports that Netflix plans to open various physical locations named "Netflix House."



These Netflix House stores are set to sell merchandise inspired by the platform's most popular shows. Beyond a wide array of products, Netflix House aims to offer visitors cafes and live events. For instance, the first two stores will feature obstacle courses based on "Squid Game."

In terms of dining, a dedicated restaurant will serve dishes and beverages inspired by numerous Netflix reality shows, ranging from every day to upscale options. Netflix House also plans to rotate art installations based on hit shows and host live performances for fans.

The opening of the first two establishments in the United States is slated for 2025, though Netflix has yet to confirm their exact locations. This isn't Netflix's first venture into using bricks and mortar to enhance customer experience. The company had previously opened several stores dedicated to the hit series "Stranger Things."

When asked about the reasons behind Netflix's global foray into physical stores, Vice President of Consumer Products Josh Simon told Bloomberg that their customers "love immersing themselves in the world of our films and TV shows, and we've thought long and hard about how to take that to the next level."
