Sears’ falling sales and stock price often makes headlines.
Regardless of the many stores it has had to close over the last few years, Sears and KMart, the discount chain, still have an unbelievable number of localities.
The latest retail ‘atlas’ has been released by Morgan Stanley and it gives a clear breakdown of the geographical location of the different retailers.
The map related to Sears and Kmart indicates that in spite of the gloomy headlines, the retailers remain powerful. The two retailers have in excess of 1000 locations each, making up a total of 2500 stores. As a comparison, their main competitor, Macy’s, shows 843 stores.
