McArthurGlen and Fiba Group to open the first two designer outlets in the largest city in Europe, Turkey.
The leading developer, owner and manager of designer outlets in Europe, McArthurGlen, has united with Fiba Group, the top international financial and retail group from Turkey, to open the first two designer outlets in the largest city in Europe, Turkey.
The partnership is set to open one outlet on the European side of Istanbul, which is close to the new international airport due to open during 2018, and the other will be placed in a university suburb located on the Asian side.
The two centers will offer consumers luxury, premium, national and international brands. Shoppers will be able to obtain constant savings of around 30% to 70% all year round, whilst shopping in stylish environments. These two Designer Outlets will be the first the partnership has entered into in Turkey, but there are plans for more to be opened across the country.
The regional development director of McArthurGlen, Claude Hargreave, said Istanbul offers everything they could want in a market. It has a huge catchment area, a love of fashion, fantastic tourist destination, easy access and superb purchasing power.
The two Designer Outlets will each offer more than 33000m² of space, to be built in phases, commencing with 20000m² during the first phase.
Construction of both outlets is planned to commence during 2015, with projected opening dates set for 2016.
McArthurGlen is also in planning with new centres in the south of France (between Marseilles and Aix-en-Provence), in the Belgian city of Ghent (between Brussels and Bruges) and in the German city of Remscheid (near Cologne and east of Düsseldorf).
