The shopping center is undergoing an extensive $45 million renovation that will add new tenants, including Nordstrom Rack, Saks Off 5th and T.J. Maxx.
The shopping center and property, across the street from the Los Cerritos Center, had various vacancies and a declining appearance for several years, but was purchased more than a year ago by Centralcal Properties, which also is adding a 24 Hour Fitness, Old Navy, Off Broadway Shoes and several restaurants: Blaze Pizza, Habit Burger, Luna Grill, Jersey Mike’s, Pier 76 Fish Grill and Wokcano. The City Council approved the mega-million project in January, and the developer last week announced most of the new shopping center tenants. The names of the remaining ones, about three, will be released by the end of June, once negotiations are completed, said Torrey Contreras, director of community development.

The 30-acre shopping center has several existing tenants, such as Burlington Coat Factory, La-Z-Boy Furniture, Chuck E. Cheese’s, Guitar Center, BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse, Buffalo Wild Wings, El Torito, Olive Garden, Peking Wok, among others.
Some of the renovations planned for the center, owners planing to build a new 10,000 square-foot building that will house Blaze Pizza, Luna Grill, Habit Burger and Pier 76 Fish Grill with outdoor seating.
New 43,692-square-foot, one-story replacement, house Saks Off 5th and another to-be-named tenant will be located and Nordstrom Rack will take over the former Easy Life Furniture building.
T.J. Maxx and Old Navy will be located near the line of stores that includes Burlington Coat Factory and Guitar Center. 24 Hour Fitness will occupy the former Levitz Furniture store.
Remodel exterior facades, except for the occupied restaurant buildings and La-Z-Boy Furniture, with a Spanish-Mediterranean style architecture popularized in Santa Barbara.
