The newcomer to the Finnish sports retail market JD Sports opens its flagship store in Finland at Mall of Tripla.

International retailers are more and more interested in Finland as a market. The English sports retail giant JD Sports will open a flagship store in Finland in autumn 2019 as a part of the new urban center Mall of Tripla in Pasila, Helsinki.
Mall of Tripla’s offering is growing again, as JD Sports, a newcomer to the Finnish sports retail market opens a stylish flagship store in the urban center. The new JD Sports store of over 600 square meters will be located on the third floor – the High Street – of Mall of Tripla. The third floor of the shopping center has a distinct high street feeling, and thus the floor offers a natural environment for stores that usually operate on high streets.
“We believe in Finland as a market as well as in Mall of Tripla, and it’s great to notice that also international retailers believe in us. JD Sports is an excellent addition to the Finnish sports retail market, and the new flagship store at Mall of Tripla will offer Finns more options when it comes to sports fashion and footwear,” says Pirjo Aalto, Commercial Development Director of Mall of Tripla.
“Mall of Tripla’s central location and strong concept convinced us to set up our Finnish flagship store in the new urban center in Pasila, Helsinki. We believe that Finns will welcome our brand well,” says Nigel Keen, Group Property Director of JD Sports.
Opening in autumn 2019, Mall of Tripla will be an urban centre offering not only extensive shopping and restaurant services but also new kinds of cultural activities and experiences, like the Finnish Music Hall of Fame; HopLop, an adventure park for families; and Surf Beach Helsinki, a unique indoor summer concept combining surfing and beach volley. With 250 stores, Mall of Tripla will be Finland’s largest shopping center measured by the number of stores. Mall of Tripla is located in the heart of Tripla. Tripla is a three-block urban center, which includes a shopping center, a parking complex, a public transportation hub, apartments, a hotel, and office space.
