Grosvenor Europe has signed Footlocker for a new flasgship store on Liverpool ONE’s South John Street.The new 21,000 sq ft Footlocker will be one of the brand’s largest in its 2,500 stores portfolio. HMV has relocated to a 13,000 sq ft shop on South John Street to make way for the store.
Alison Clegg, Director, Asset Management at Grosvenor Europe, announced: “Securing Footlocker is a reflection of our strategy of providing visitors with a highly compelling and relevant offer that is unavailable elsewhere. Along with the new HMV, the new stores will provide on-trend, exciting offers that further strengthen Liverpool ONE’s great mix of brands.”
JD and Superdry both opened in Q4 of 2017 and, Seven Liverpool, owned by Footasylum, began on Paradise Street a year ago.
“An increasing number of retailers including JD Sports, Footlocker, and Nespresso have launched new stores concepts in Liverpool ONE, an endorsement of their performance and confidence,” Alison continues.
In Foot Locker’s most recently published results, they revealed a comparable sales drop of 3.7 percent, while total sales on a constant currency basis dropped 2.3 percent.
Liverpool One enjoyed a record year in 2017, with sales growing three percent and footfall topping 29 million for the first time.
