Three operators were signed for an ambitious €800m project intu Costa del Sol in the south of Spain.

The announcement follows on quickly from the 2.5 million sq ft (235,000 sqm) project receiving its General ‘PGOU’ License (Plan General de Ordenación Urbana) this Autumn.
Yelmo Films, trading as Yelmo Cines, has signed an agreement for a 9,500m2 16-screen state of the art cinema located in The Lakes area of the resort – one of its eight differently themed and designed neighborhoods.
The second agreement is with Wave House International, which has signed detailed Heads for Terms for its surf park concept – to be located in The Hood. Wave House’s original and revolutionary concept epitomizes the surfing lifestyle and will include a full-size 4,300m2 surf pool, offering everyday surfing, exclusive event competitions, a Wave Club and Surf School, as well as capacity for live music entertainment The San Diego HQ’d operation famously refined its concept with world’s best board riders Kelly Slater, Tony Hawk and Terje Haakonsen.

The third agreement is with Gran Teatro Bankia Príncipe Pío, Santiago Segura, José Mota y Luis Álvarez, trading as Gran Teatro Costa del Sol, signing Heads of Terms for the resort’s theatre which is to be situated in The Lakes neighborhood of the project. Seating some 1,500 guests across two levels, the multi-purpose 4,000m2 theatre will attract world-class entertainment, including theatre productions, music, comedy, and cultural acts from across Europe.
The new European destination is set to open in 2023 and is positioned on a significant site to the north of Torremolinos, accessed via the major southern highway and just 3 km from Malaga’s international airport. Eight distinct, vibrant neighborhoods, each with their dynamic energy, have been curated to provide unique experiences for every guest. Each year, 29 million guests are expected to fly, drive, or walk into the resort, aimed at world travelers and residents alike.
