Primark set to launch five new stores across Italy in 2024



Primark will open in Turin, Livorno, Cosenza and Salerno.

Fashion brand Primark has decided to invest in the development of its retail business in Italy. The fashion giant will invest €50 million to open five stores in the country in 2024.

Growing footprint: Turin, Livorno, Cosenza, Salerno, and Genoa

Primark will open in Turin, Livorno, Cosenza and Salerno. Another outlet in Genoa is also expected to launch in 2026, bringing the chain's total number of outlets to 20.

Primark officially entered the Italian market at the end of 2015, opening its first store in the Il Centro shopping center in Areza, Milan. At the end of 2022, the opening of the first outlet in Turin took place. The opening of a second monostore in the To Dream shopping center will take place at a later date.

With the new openings, Primark promises to create 600 new jobs across Italy. Thus, the total staff of the company in the country will exceed 5 thousand people.

Tech upgrade: new stores to feature self-service checkouts

The new stores, scheduled to open in 2024, will be the first to be equipped with self-service checkouts. Earlier Primark announced plans to reach 530 stores in Europe by 2026.

Primark Italy director Luca Ciuffreda said: "Over the past eight years, Primark has seen significant growth across Italy, already we have 15 stores across 10 provinces, with no intention of slowing down. Today we are proud to announce an ambitious investment in our store portfolio and long-term growth of Primark Italy".
