Having opened its doors approximately 40 years ago, Bal Harbour Shops offers a great selection of world-renowned designers and through European architecture, shoppers experience a refreshingly intimate breeze as they wander through the open-air mall. Shoppers feel like they are in a European style courtyard that has been graced with lush greenery in the form of exotic plants, tropical flowers, trees and even waterfall fountains.

The architectural design of Bal Harbour Shops was designed to create a feeling of a shopping garden as opposed to a shopping mall. Bal Harbour is home to internationally acclaimed luxury retail such as Georgio Armani, Gucci, Prada, Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus and Versace and hosts many events for launching new products and lines. Restaurants such as Carpaccio, La Goulue and Christian Delouvrier are apparent, along with many cafes on site. Plans for expanding an additional 200,000 square feet have been developed for retail stores targeting a younger frashion-trendy generation, a hotel and a third level to host an array of social events such as fashion shows, luncheons and other entertainment events. However, Bal Harbour Shops is not a place for people who are shopping on a budget as many of the stores in this mall are luxury stores that sell high quality goods that obviously come with high price tag.
