Ecco opens a flagship store in NYC

Danish footwear manufacturer Ecco, which celebrates its 60th anniversary this year, has opened a flagship store in New York City. The 3,250-square-foot retail space is located at 110 Grand Street in Soho, at the corner of Broadway and Grand.

Democratic, inclusive vision

At the new store, the Scandinavian brand features a full range of men's, women's and children's footwear and accessories, as well as some exclusive, limited edition merchandise.

Ecco explains that the store's interior is designed to create a welcoming and inspiring atmosphere, which is in line with the brand's current campaign centered around a "democratic, inclusive vision of the modern family."

Alpha flagship stores

The opening coincides with the revitalization of Ecco's 16 global "alpha" flagship stores, a collaborative project with Swedish studio Stamuli, which brings together creatives, architects and technical experts specializing in interior design for the fashion and retail sectors. These refreshed stores seek to embody the brand's core values of innovation, ambitious design, sustainability and community in physical spaces with a "consistent visual language". In addition, each boutique incorporates "individualized twists" to transform them into unique places and experiences.

With the opening of the first stores, Ecco is also introducing its brand new NRL collection. The capsule includes 15 models created by the Danish brand in collaboration with new creative partner Natacha Ramsay-Levi.
